We had an absolute blast with Will as our captain. This is the absolutely best way to see the beautiful reefs of St John. We had a full day sail to three secluded beaches. There was nobody but us snorkeling. This beat other snorkeling tours hands down, with nobody kicking in your face. We got to see tons of fish, and two turtles. This is the best tour that we have ever been on in the five years that we have been traveling the Caribbean. Being on the open ocean with only the sound of waves and wind, is a delight, with no engine noise or rap music ruining it like other tours. My wife and I were in St. John for a wedding and booked an afternoon sail / snorkel trip with Sail Safaris with another couple. Captain Han was terrific, and his sailboat was a great way to explore the beaches and snorkeling sites around St. John. Han knew a lot about the islands and could answer all of our questions about the area. As a snorkeling guide, Han combined a wealth of knowledge about coral and fish with concern for our safety. When currents became too strong in one direction, we moved in another, making for a relaxed afternoon of snorkeling. Han was also very professional. When I (like a knucklehead) left a pair of nice sunglasses on his boat, he took my cell call and arranged to have them left at a local SCUBA shop for me to pick up. I recommend Sail Safaris very highly and would definitely book with them again. " - As found on Trip Advisor.com "Sail Safaris" "Best Shore Excursion... we organized this excursion ourselves from an advert on the internet. We wanted the fun of sailing ourselves in the Caribbean - not floating around with other people on a big boring catamaran - and this outing with Captain Han was fabulous. He supplied waterproof bags for our gear, because, yes, we did go fast and we did get splashed! There were only 2 of us (he can take up to 4 per boat and could accommodate larger parties by taking out more Cats)and we took turns sailing the Hobie Cat individually to several beautiful uninhabited islands where we landed to go snorkelling or have lunch that he supplied. Han was a knowledgeable and interesting guide and I highly recommend his sail safari. Our cruise ship docked at St. Thomas, USVI so you have to take a taxi to the Red Hoek ferry, and then the ferry $3 which takes about 15minutes to St. John's. It really was a high point of our trip, and a bit of a dream come true for this one-time sailor. Bettina and Sydney both enjoyed it and are petitioning me to get a smaller, high performance boat. "Well, it has been a week and a half since our AWESOME (word used correctly!) day with you on the Hobie Cat. Now that we are home in Salt Lake City and the vacation in St. John is over, I can honestly say that day with you was the BEST day of our whole trip (and there wasn't anything but a perfect day the whole week, so that is really saying something.) Not only was the experience itself incredible, but we learned so much about the island and its flora and fauna that we felt very prepared and informed as we went about our other activities.
