I just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for being there with the Hobies. It really was a high point of our trip, and a bit of a dream come true for this one-time sailor. Bettina and Sydney both enjoyed it and are petitioning me to get a smaller, high performance boat. Hmm, opportunity knocks….

"By far the best part of the trip was our day sail/snorkelling trip with Sail Safaris. We booked it from the shack in Cruz Bay.

The trip takes place on a small catamaran with a max of 5 people so it is a really amazing way to spend the day. We zipped around to small, uninhabited islands and reefs for snorkelling and helped sail the boat. We had a picnic lunch on a secluded island. It was really one of the most memorable trips I've ever done. Great snorkelling, great sailing. Amazing. Bring sunscreen and a disposable camera and that's it. You will be soaked by the end! "

"Well, it has been a week and a half since our AWESOME (word used correctly!) day with you on the Hobie Cat. Now that we are home in Salt Lake City and the vacation in St. John is over, I can honestly say that day with you was the BEST day of our whole trip (and there wasn't anything but a perfect day the whole week, so that is really saying something.) Not only was the experience itself incredible, but we learned so much about the island and its flora and fauna that we felt very prepared and informed as we went about our other activities. (for example, how would we have known to look up and see the bats?!) Happy Sailing!"

Here we are back on the mainland with cell phones and traffic!  I can still picture the beauty and peacefulness out on the Hobie!  Wish we were there!
 Just wanted to quickly tell you thanks again for such a great trip.   It was the most enjoyable experience for my family as well as my friends.  We feel fortunate to have been able to visit/snorkle remote cays that are uninhabited, and learn about the surrounding islands, and wildlife.
 
Truly the best "Ride of our Lives".

"If you're looking to share an impersonal 2-3 hour "snorkel trip" with 20-30 other passengers (where the highlight of the trip is the Rum Punch and some reggae music) or a sunset cruise, then Sail Safaris is definitely not for you.
     But, if you enjoy something quite unique, then check out Sail Safaris Hobie Cats. They provide a 16 ft. Hobie Cat with a captain and an excursion tailored to your interests. The Hobie provides the ability to explore various islands and the ability to land directly on beautiful secluded beaches allows its participants to also partake of some wonderful snorkeling. In addition, taking the helm (supervised for us sailing novices) is a great way to gain sailing experience; Hobie Cats provide a real sense of oneness with the water and St. John's ever present prevailing winds provide plenty of wonderful sailing. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about such a small vessel out in the ocean (actually in various bays) but the captain insures that no risk is incurred. We so enjoyed our first day trip that my wife and I went for an additional day trip later during our stay."

How you doing, woke up to snow on the ground again today, we really need to be down there. Hope everything is good with you, Lisa and I had a great time sailing, best part of the trip. Thanks again. Well, here's some pictures of the Hobie on Sandy Spit, turned out pretty good, man we miss it down there! Take it easy and keep having fun with what your doing, you and your wife are lucky people.
