These St John Sailing Tours Sail into the Virgin Islands National Park for Nature Tours to Wild Destinations.
![]() TWO WRECKS This sailing tour is for those who thrill at the underwater spectacle of sunken wrecks. Our first stop is an uninhabited island and nature preserve just out of Cruz Bay on St John. We snorkel a coral shelf that is home to Staghorn coral above and Squirrel fish hiding below. There are schools of Blue Tang and yellow and black striped Sergeant Major. We follow the shelf to the site of a 30 foot steel trawler in about 15 feet of water. As this boat came to a dismal end on the rocks it lives again as a sanctuary for coral and hundreds of colorful reef fish. Dive down to examine the coral encrusted diesel and drive shaft up close. We hop back on the sailboats and sail up the beautiful north shore of St. John to a secluded beach in the Virgin Islands National Park. We sail the boat right onto the white sand and pull up under the palm trees. Snorkeling out in about 10' of water we come across, not a sunken boat, but a plane! The small, single engine skimmed across Cinnamon Bay before coming to rest just off this hidden beach. The prop is still visible jammed in the sand. The engine and wing have become a safe haven for small reef fish. Explore more of the coral nearby and then enjoy a thrilling, downwind sail past Caravel Rocks and Pillsbury Sound before our return to Cruz Bay, St John. Full day $110pp. EXPLORE THE ST JAMES ISLANDSOn this sailing tour we head South towards the St. James islands. Our first stop is a rugged coral and stone beach on Little St James. Because no one ever goes to this spot the snorkeling is incredible, with massive formations and lots of fish. Octopus can sometimes be spotted among the coral and rock. Then we sail the cut between Little and Great St James past the personal resort of one wealthy island owner who has made his own version of paradise among the palms. We sail to Christmas Cove and enjoy the little beach and great snorkeling of this sheltered spot. After warming in the sun we can sail across the channel for a cocktail in the sand at Secret Harbor Resort or visit another deserted beach before a fast and fun sail back to Cruz Bay, St John. Half day $70pp WILD SOUTH SHORE ADVENTUREThe rugged South Shore of St John differs from the rest of the island. Rocky headlands jut out into the Caribbean Sea punctuated by deep bays. The full splendor of the Virgin Islands National Park can be seen in the forested mountains above. On this sailing tour we pass Chocolate Hole before visiting Rondevue Bay. The bay's steady winds and sheltered water make for excellent sailing. Sailing farther up the South Shore of St John we visit wild and remote bays with coral reefs and crumbling plantation ruins. Full day $110pp/weather permitting THE JOST VAN DYKE ODYSSEYBecome a real explorer and visit the British Virgin Island's by beach cat. We make the crossing fast and fun, sailing across the Sir Francis Drake Channel and into the British Virgin Islands. We sail right onto the beach on the sleepy island of Jost Van Dyke. Get a taste of the real Caribbean wandering the sandy main street, petting goats and visiting the world famous Foxy's. Then it's off to White Bay, an idyllic setting for sunny beach side bars, cocktails in a hammock or snorkeling on the reef. The sail back to St John is even more fun with a good downwind breeze to blast us home again. Full Day$110 pp/ customs and lunch extra. Passport needed CIRCUMNAVIGATE ST JOHN!An epic all day sailing tour that takes you to some of the most remote spots on and off St John.
